Coaching

XS21World takes great care to guide you through your internship. We know that it is exciting to go abroad and to work and live there. It might well be the first time that you are away for so long. Scary? No. Your experience will be different from what you had expected and bring you unexpected challenges at times. All this is part of the adventure. You will learn many new things, about another culture, about a different way of working, how to live in an alien environment. We are there to help you with this learning experience both in the Netherlands and in Tanzania.

Preparation

A preparation day is held before your departure. During this day we inform you about the practical issues that you need to know and do before you go. We also tell you about the customs and traditions in Tanzania and let you share experiences with a former participant of our program. Thirdly we make a start with your learning path. We ask you to think about what you want to learn and achieve through your internship and put it down in words. This will be the basis for your coaching during your time in Tanzania. You will see that being conscious of your learning will help you to make your internship even more successful.

Your first days in Tanzania

The first days after your arrival are for introduction. During these days you will get to know your buddy and host family, arrange for your work permit and explore the city by means of a bike tour. There is a first session of Swahili classes so that you get by with greetings. This way you are sure to make many friends!

Coaching in Tanzania

Our staff in Tanzania will be guiding you through your internship. Through meetings with you and your buddy - who follows the same learning path - they will help you to get the most out of your cultural and professional experience. Of course they are also there to advice you when you have practical problems.
